First Trip Home

We made it back from our first road trip with Bo.  We headed out Thursday afternoon and returned late this afternoon. We were nervous about how he would do traveling that far so soon but things went great. He seems to enjoy riding in the car so we will remember that for emergency situations. We had a wonderful time visiting all our wonderful family and friends the last several days. I think everytime Bo opened his eyes someone new was holding him. He loved getting to spend the night with all his grandparents and so did we! Buddy and I were able to get some much needed rest and sometime to ourselves. He is a very lucky young man to have granparents, great-grand parents and a great-great grandmother. Thanks to everyone who came by to visit us while we were home. It was very tough to leave today to come back but it is nice to be back home and getting back to the normal routine. Congratulations to my cousin Bentley and his new wife Jennifer on their new marriage. Seems we got back just in time for a blizzard that is going to hit us sometime after midnight tonight. So please be thinking about us and keep your fingers crossed that things don't get to bad. Here are a few pictures from our time with everyone.

Happy Birthday Mason and Robyn

Bo had his 4 week birthday today and also got to spend it with two great friends for their birthday too! Our first birthday party was very successful and we all had a great time. Happy Birthday to Mason and Robyn Hatchett from the Westmoreland's. I can't believe that Bo is already a month old everyone was right when they told us time would fly by. Our dear friend Melissa took his one month pictures yesterday and he did super good for her. We are anticipating our trip to eastern Arkansas tomorrow and are hoping everything goes smoothly. We have a busy weekend trying to see all our family and friends and attending the wedding of a very special family member.

Cabin Fever

Between the cold weather and the snow me and Bo are starting to get some cabin fever. Today we went up to my office to visit all the girls. They were excited to see him since they had not seen him yet. He was showing off for them and being super good. Nicole, my coworker just found out she is pregnant so I know her new edition and Bo will make fast friends. I know Bo will be able to teach him/her all kinds of stuff by August. It is a strange feeling giving her pregnancy/motherly advice.I am so excited for her and Trevor I know they will be great parents. I started making a list of things that we will need to have ready for our first road trip next week. We may need to take two cars or a U-haul to take everything I think we need. I have now figured out why mom's like to drive those gas guzzling SUV's and don't think I have not been trying to figure out a way to get me one of them. HINT HINT!! Just that carseat and stroller take up about every inch of space in my car. I guess that Buddy and I will be packing light so Bo can have everything that he will need. We are looking forward to the weekend so we can get out a little bit and it is also supposed to be a bit warmer tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Snow Day

Bo and I have just been at home enjoying the snow day. We ended up getting about 5 inches I think here in Fayetteville. We have not been out of the house in a couple of days because of the frigid temperatures. They are saying it will be 4 degrees here tonight. I wish I could have got him out and got his picture with the snow but we decided against it this time. It is early in the snow season here so I am sure we will get more before winter is over. We are looking forward to our trip home next weekend. Me and Bo need to get out of this house for a few days and see what is happening in the rest of the world. I forgot to mention earlier in the week that our Auntie Sarah came by to visit us. She was great help as you can see in the photo below. Yes, that is her holding the baby.

January 19

Bo and I are just doing some laundry today and catching up on some TV. We went back to the doctor this morning and he thinks Bo is having some reflux that might be causing him to be upset so often. He gave us some medicine to try so hopefully that will fix him up. We don't like seeing him not feeling good it is tough. Looks like we are going to get some more winter weather here tomorrow.

Check Up

No more fears that Bo may not be eating enough. He now weighs 9.8 pounds and is 20.5 inches, he has gained 1.55 pounds in 13 days. The doctor said he is healthy and right on schedule for his age. Looks like we better be prepared for him to eat us out of house and home. He did not like taking his clothes off in front of those ladies, but he has finally chilled out and is getting  a siesta now. It is a yucky, cold day here so looks like we are in for the day.

Weekend

We had another great weekend and enjoyed the beautiful weather. We got Bo out a couple times this weekend and that went well. I was apprehensive getting him out so early but it was great to get out of the house. He sleeps better while in that carseat then he does anything in this house. We are hoping for another great week.

31 Years

Today marked the 31st birthday for me. Spent the day with Bo and getting a few things done around the house. Thanks to Melissa and Robyn for coming over and bringing lunch and taking us out to run some errands. He got to spend his day with all the girls. Birthdays take on a whole new meaning now. My brother says with kids there are no more birthdays for me. I got lots of birthday wishes, cards and some cash to go along. We had the Catfish Hole for dinner and now relaxing watching some TV. Bo is napping which I hope does not lead to another restless night. We are crossing our fingers that we can get some sleep tonight. We know the little guy doesn't mean to keep us up. At 31, I promise you I need more than 3 hours a night to keep up. Everyone enjoy your long weekend.

January 13, 2011

Not much happening around here the last few days. Bo has kind of been in a funk so that has taken up most of our time. He has had a good day today and seems to be back on track. It is looking like he will choose one night a week to be sure me and his daddy are able to stay up all night with him. Those cries get tough in the wee hours of the morning. But we made it through it and are hoping that he doesn't want to do that again for a while. It is hard not being able to figure out what is wrong to make them feel better. Everyone says that we will be able to tell the difference in the different cries soon but for now they all sound the same...loud! All in all we have another great week and are looking forward to the weekend.

Flying Solo

Today was the first day for me and Bo to have the house to ourselves. So far so good! He has been a sleepy head today and has not been awake but to eat a couple of times. Sarie came by to spend a few hours with us (really just to hold Bo!). We did catch up on a couple episodes of Hoarder's while she was here. I know that the show is crazy but it can't be worse than watching soap operas all day. I still am not sure what I am going to come up with to do while I am home the next few months but I will figure something out. We had another good night last night and got in a few extra hours of shut eye. We were glad to see his daddy come home today.

Lazy Sunday

Not to much happening around the Westmoreland house today. Just sitting around watching Bo, but we really do that everyday. I don't know what I sat around and did before he came along. We did get his giraffe floor mat out today and let him play on his belly. It is amazing how strong he is getting already. He didn't want to be on his belly long but he didn't mind the long winters nap he got on it after. I don't think I have ever seen anything so sweet as him just peacefully sleeping the day away. We had a few visitors today which was nice. We made it through our first night alone pretty good. Buddy is staying home with me tomorrow and then Tuesday it will be just me and Bo. Please keep us in your prayers that we will make it! Tommy and Sarah came by to say hello and brought Bo a sweet card, a rockabye baby cd and some tie dyed onesies. Roger and Kathy stopped by just to say hello and see how things were going. Now we are just hanging around hoping we will get a littel bit of snow. Looks like everyone in east and south of us are getting quite a bit. I think the biggest chance for us will be tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great week.

Better Days Ahead

Bo was a super champ last night and slept most of the night. Mom and Dad were able to get 4 consecutive hours of sleep at one time...WOO HOO! We made a few changes to his sleeping arrangements and he seemed to really appreciate it. We are just keeping our fingers crossed that this will continue to be the way our nights go. We are looking forward to our first weekend at home with just our little family. I think it will be a true test of our patience and perseverance. Have a great day!

Just another day

Sorry I have missed the last couple of days but they have been a bit rough but we have kept our heads above water. Sleep is very important and hard to come by these days but with the help of my WONDERFUL husband we are making it. I am beginning to the think that he may have his days and nights confused. We are just keeping our fingers crossed for better nights to come. Today was also a sad day for me, my mom left to go home. I don't know how we could have made it without her this past week. But on a brighter note Bo's aunt Bette Bette came to stay with us for a couple days.

Happy One week birthday to BO!

Bo has been here with us for one week today. Time goes by to fast and he is changing so much already. We didn't do anything crazy today just the norm sleep, eat and lots of diaper changes. He did share his birthday with his grandpa Dub today. Happy Birthday Dub! I think he is really starting to get used to us and our home. I don't know what we ever did without him and I sure can't imagine life without him now.

Week 1

It is almost the end of the first week of Bo being home with us. It has been a learning curve for sure but we seem to be figuring it out as we go. Diapers, feeding and sleep seem to be the main subjects of the first week and I am guessing many weeks to come. It is amazing what you can get done on just a few hours of sleep a day. Naps have a whole new meaning to us now. I just said earlier it is amazing what an hour of sleep can do for a person. Today we made our first outing since coming home from the hospital. We headed out to the our first doctor visit this morning. We are healthy, doing good and hoping that things stay that way. Here are a few pictures of Bo this first week.
